So, some of you know and some of you don't, but Norman now has a Paul Mitchell hair school. Our good friends Matt and Heather are co-owners to the school. Tonight was the Grand Opening and I got to go with some great ladies! I'm sooo excited we have this school here. I've been wanting, dreaming, having an overwhelming desire to go to hair school, but haven't had the opprotunity yet. I always wanted to go to as good of a school as I could and now I have an amazing opprotunity right at my back door (well kind of at my back door). I'm hoping to start in the next year or two.....
Anyway about tonight, I got to go with Catherine and Claudia...We hit Olive Garden for dinner. Our waitress was a nut and wouldn't let us refill our salad or bread sticks because I had ordered an appetizer for my meal. If we wanted a refill they were going to charge us an extra $3. Then they ended up taking my "meal" off the ticket. We only were able to get three Andes mints too! They were pretty stingy for some reason. After dinner we headed over to Paul Mitchell for their Grand Opening. There were sooo many people there...Most of which had interesting hair color choices and cuts. We found Heather and she asked us if we had met John Paul yet....She grabbed us by the arm and started working us through the crowd to a room....Then she proceeded to walk us right up to the front of the line. We had our pic taken with John Paul and Winn who co-owns Paul Mitchell Schools with John Paul. In process of getting posed for the pic....I ended up with my hand grazing John Paul buttocks! I was suprised as to where my hand landed....So what did I do?...Move it quickly and say sorry....Oh no, I just froze and left it there! I'm hoping he didn't notice! :) Anyway, we got to spend the evening visiting and then listen to John and Winn speak! It was so inspiring to hear what they had to say....My favorite part....when they said they don't take everyone as students at their school that applies to go....they only want people who are serious about the industry! It drives me nuts when people just go to go and have passion or desire really for it that clog up the schools and cause waiting lists to happen which keep people that actually love it and can't wait to do it from being able to go! It was just great and John Paul's eagle and oyster story/analogy was great! If only I could remember it well enough to tell it.
Anyway, after listening to John and Winn, we left and headed to passionberri for some dessert.....Ok new addiction! That stuff is sooo good and it's located WAY too close to my house!
It was a great night and one I will never forget!
