Do they honestly want me to believe that????

So, I have begun to find it interesting that when you know you're child has done something and you ask them about it and they just say "I didn't do anything!" or "I don't know!". Do they think we are that dumb? Especially when the evidence is all over them or something else? Last week I went to check on the kids in my room because Lydia came to tell me the boys made a mess. Of course when they heard me comming they dashed into their "hiding places" like I'm not going to know they were there when there are 3 bottles of craft paint empty and spread on the wall and puddling in the drawer I keep it in. Of course the "not me" monster visited my house that day because no one here did it. Not even the two little boys with paint on their hands and faces! Yesterday Lydia came out of the kids room with black stuff all over her eyes and faces and what looked like eyeshadow or blush across her face as well. When I asked her where she got into it at she said "I didn't do anything!" I told her that I knew she did something because it was all over her face and it couldn't have just gotten there with out being put there. I went looking for the evidence and couldn't find anything. So I came back and asked her again this time telling her that if she didn't tell me the truth she would get in trouble. So, now the story changed to "I did it on my bed." I went to check and folded into a blanket was my makeup. She had tried to apply mascara and that was the black all over her eyes and cheeks and you can't have that without a little blush and eyeshadow too!!!

Time Out For Women

I just got back yesterday from a 1 day and 1 night of complete spiritual overhaul. I went with my friends Staci and Melany, and my new friend Phyllis. If you have not been to a Time Out For Woman, I strongly suggest that you find one and go. They do them all over the country. Anyway, For a few years now I have been trying to find my way back to the place I once was before being married and having children and I have found it again. I didn't realize how much some of the performers and presenters had made a difference in my life as I was going through my teenage years and now they are doing it again in my adult life in my relationships and in being a mother. I learned so much in my short retreat. I got to go with some amazing ladies. We had a blast. I hope they would say the same. I really appreciated that I was able to share this weekend with these ladies. It felt like it used to for me in having friends in the gospel and being able to open up and share our thoughts and experience with each other. The speakers we were blessed to hear from were, Kim Nelson (he is a counselor and author) he talked to us about our relationships with our husband and how to better understand each other, Merrilee Boyack (she is a lecturer, author, and humanitarian) she talked to us a great deal about doing service with our familys. She challenged us to take 5 split seconds a day to bring joy to another person's life, Carolyn Rasmus (she is an author, former professor and is currently serving on the Sunday School general board.) She talked to us about living our lives with joy, Camille Fronk Olson (she is an author, professor and BYU and also served in the Young Women general board.) she talked about how to have our own book of Psalms, Dean Hughes (he is a former professor and is now a full-time writer. He and his wife are preparing to leave for a mission in Nauvoo in Sept)) he talked about becoming meek, Jason Wright (he is a New York Times best selling author, he wrote The Wednesday Letters) he talked about writting personal letters and or notes, and the effects that taking the time to sit and handwrite something has on the person that recieves it. Our musical guests were Mercy River, Micheal McLean and Hilary Weeks. All of their music was amazing and touching and fit into most any aspect of one's life. If you can't tell by now I loved, loved, loved this event!!! I highly recommend that you find a way to go. I have heard that if we didn't meet a certain number of people to attend, that they wouldn't be comming back to OKC, but I would pay and travel if I had to go a few hours to do it.

A Princess Birthday Party!

Lydia celebrated her 3rd birthday last week and had her first birthday party with some of her friends. (We usually just do family). We missed Cicily who is all the way in Cali and couldn't make it. It would have been fun for the three girl cousins to be dressed like princess' together. We thought about webcaming her in, but I didn't that far to get it together before the party started. Here are some pics of the event. They made necklaces and bracelets and had cake and icecream. I made the cake as usual. It turned out ok, but could have been better. It tasted good though.
